LeadiD Glossary of Terms
Agency
An entity that buys leads on behalf of an Enterprise. Differs from a Lead Aggregator in that usually an Agency is not buying leads and reselling them to their clients (as a Lead Aggregator may do) but instead is acting as a recognized lead buying arm of an Enterprise.
Enterprise Lead Buyer
An entity that buys leads for the purposes of directly marketing to those leads. Typically, Enterprise Lead Buyers will not resell leads they buy but instead will utilize purchased leads only for the sake of helping their business market their products and services.
Lead Aggregator
An entity that buys and then resells leads to Enterprises and/or other Lead Aggregators. Lead Aggregators are thus both Lead Sellers and Lead Buyers. Their value add is that they can often generate more supply than a Lead Generator that is supplying only its own leads, and through their relationships, Lead Aggregators are often able to supply more cost-effective leads than an Enterprise might be able to supply for themselves. Many Lead Aggregators are also Lead Generators.
LeadID Auditor
LeadID Auditor is the product that allows any Lead Buyer to query a LeadID to get back in real-time the associated birth, history, and quality scores associated with the lead. LeadID Auditor is utilized by Lead Buyers (Aggregators and Enterprises).
Lead Buyer
An entity that buys leads, either for their own use (Enterprise), for resale (Lead Aggregator), or on behalf of an Enterprise (Agency).
Lead Certification
Lead Certification is the term used to describe LeadID's ability to certify the birth and life of a lead. LeadID Certification documents with certainty whether the presumed lead you are reviewing is actually a lead or not; when, where, and by whom the lead was born; and where the lead has been since its birth.
LeadID Creator
LeadID Creator is the product that certifies the birth of an online, form-generated lead and establishes a unique identifier (the LeadID) for that lead. The LeadID can be used by other entities to query for information about the lead and also is used to track the history of the lead. LeadID Creator is utilized by Lead Generators.
Lead Generator
An entity that generates online leads through the use of an online web form. To be a Lead Generator means that you "own" the site that has the web form where the lead is generated. Many Lead Generators also act as Lead Aggregators, either to fulfill the demand of Lead Buyers if they cannot fulfill the demand through their own Lead Generation efforts and/or as part of their value-add by making better buys than an Enterprise might be able to make for themselves.
Lead Seller
An entity that sells leads to another entity. Lead Sellers may also be Lead Generators and/or Lead Aggregators.
